WHERE SHOULD YOU GET READY?

WHERE SHOULD YOU GET READY?

This is an element of the planning of a wedding that I believe can sometimes be overlooked amongst the long list of other aspects on your planning list that you are rightly prioritising. I hope, if nothing else, this gives you some food for thought.

I have visited a wide range of venues and locations for the bride and groomsmen’s preparations ahead of the wedding ceremony, from grand suites of luxury hotels, remote getaways, to flats owned by friends or family. Neither of which is necessarily a ‘better choice’, but ensuring that it offers a good fit for your day can elevate your photographs in the long run.

The morning preparations with a beautiful bride and her bridesmaids are an incredibly special part of the story and are often some of the most published photographs on social media and your wedding album. There is anticipation, excitement, and a lot of laughter in the air and with this brings lots of opportunities for your photographer to capture these cherished moments.

A few important points you may wish to consider are, does the location allow you and the bridal party enough space for you all to be in one room (or two if they are nearby to one another), whilst not being too cluttered? Is the space blessed with beautiful natural light so whatever the weather, there are plenty of opportunities for stunning natural photographs? It may well be that your family home would be the perfect fit, but please plan ahead and consider whether the location would complement your visions for your day.
