my background
I find that I am most inspired when pushing myself, visiting new cultures, competing in sporting events, or helping my daughter learn to ride a bike. I have been shooting destination weddings for over 15 years and I am captivated by the art of photography, it is my life’s work. I am very grateful to have worked all over Europe and around the world and have had the opportunity to work on many incredible weddings and events. From large multiple-day celebrations to small elopements, from Paris to the beaches of Sydney, castles in Ireland to remote islands in Greece, I have found that exploring such rich and diverse cultures and landscapes always brings out the very best in my work.
I strive to create timeless and emotive imagery, capturing authentic photographs that you can not only see but feel. I live along the south coast of the UK, with my wife Laura and our two little children, Madeline and Tobias. I am an adventurer at heart and I have always travelled the world with a camera in hand. My father was a keen amateur photographer showing me from a very early age the creative freedom a camera can offer. I went on to study Photography at college and this was when I knew I had found my true passion. Outside of weddings, you will find me on adventures with my family, playing sport, traveling the world, delving into photography books, or visiting exhibitions.
One of my favourite compliments is my couples saying it was like I was a friend at their wedding. I believe having this comforting presence allows me to get closer, more intimate photographs. Establishing a deep sense of connection and trust with my couples is pivotal; it is the foundation upon which you'll feel at ease in front of the camera. This comfort is what brings forth the most authentic and genuine expressions, resulting in images that beautifully capture you as a couple. This relaxed atmosphere unlocks the true magic that shines through every frame, preserving moments in their purest form.
When my couples revisit their photographs and look back through their album, I want them to see their true selves, the connections and moments they experienced. I treasure real laughter, unguarded expressions, and the rawness of genuine bonds.
While photography is one of the most precious tangible keepsakes enduring beyond your celebration, creating a timeless heirloom for generations to come, I firmly believe it should not overshadow the essence of the day itself. For this reason, I work swiftly and diligently, ensuring that whilst capturing portraits of you both together and with those you hold dearest, you have ample time to embrace the company of your guests, so you can truly immerse yourselves in the joyous celebration. After all, savouring these irreplaceable moments alongside your loved ones is an integral part of what makes your day truly unforgettable.
I would like to think that I have a way of getting the best out of people, being able to read a room very quickly and adapting my demeanour to ensure I am not too overwhelming or intrusive. I want to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera even if it is the first time I have spoken to them.
