I am very excited to finally share with you the work from a collaborative shoot I arranged just before Christmas, which brought together an array of the finest Dorset wedding suppliers. We didn’t set the rooms, have any stationary or any fancy props - this day was all about portraying the love story of the bride and groom on a wedding day, from preparations to first glance. It was all about the couple, their emotions and the build up to their big day.
The day was based at the stunning Somerley House located on the Hampshire/ Dorset border. A family home dating back to 1750 that is now also used as a wedding and events venue, a truly remarkable place. I fell in love with Somerley House on my first visit and was so inspired by the locations - I came away buzzing with ideas. The backdrops of the house are so individual, impressive and grand - a dream for a wedding photographer! I wanted to combine the contemporary feel of some of the locations with the traditional settings that oozed history and elegance.
This is just a mere glimpse into the venue. The grounds and locations for photography are vast but given it was a cold December day, the locations used were around the house itself - plus the stables outside, which I just couldn’t resist. I cannot wait to return once the Spring weather arrives to capture more of the incredible grounds - 7000 acres might be a challenge but I have lots of ideas in mind!
If you are interested in creating unique and stylish images, please do get in touch to find out more about the 'pre' and 'post' wedding photoshoot options I offer.
A big thank you goes to the incredible models - Jess and Drew. I had the privilege of capturing their actual wedding day in 2016 and from that day onwards I couldn’t wait to get them back behind the camera. I hope you will agree the results from using a real life couple are just so emotive, yet relaxed and allowed me to capture something special.
The day wouldn’t have been complete without the incredible team that made everything possible -
Venue - Somerley House - A big thank you to the lovely Alex at Somerley for helping organising the shoot and sharing my vision.
Dresses - Anna Bridal - Look no further than this gorgeous bridal boutique in Ringwood. Their dresses are simply stunning and couldn’t have been more fitting for this shoot. Every single one was of the highest quality and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
Groom attire - Models own suit with accessories from the vintage emporium, Pokesdown.
Make up - Tara Sanger - I am lucky to work with Tara at many of the weddings and portrait shoots I do. Her work is sublime - she produces incredible results with such ease, and is a true professional in her field.
Hair - Bridal Hair in Hampshire. Michelle is so incredibly passionate about her work and is a calming character to have there on the day.
Flowers - Jennifer Pointer - Jen’s flowers have always been a favourite of mine. She has a true passion for perfection and I just love her style.
